There is something magical about finding that spot just west of town because you can imagine how it will transform in the sparkle of the setting sun and yet I chose to edit some of the images in black & white ( dogwood ).  It seems to knit together and bring the focus onto Little Grace and her mommy.

Gracie is a determined little girl who isn't afraid to run wild & free. There is something terrifying about capturing images when you have no time to think about execution and technicalities.  Truth be told, I am in my head far too much with apprehension of failing.  It seems like trying to seize the moment of now is where you find the story.  We often don't see what has unfolded until we look back upon our day or load the photos onto my computer.  Life can be that crazy and ever moving.

Two years old and counting with those bouncy curls and those eye lashes.  Getting to grab a hold of this bundle and to hold her close is the greatest gift.  One that captivates me and one that I miss so terribly.  Those days are long gone in the recesses of my memories.

Mommy loves you Little Grace with all of her heart and all of her soul.  She lives for you, and I can see that she is also your treasure.

Remember these moments when something so little can hold you like a strong anchor in a hurricane world.  Little Grace is your reason to brave those storms and her love holds you steady.

Dare to dream and dare to look for those butterflies dancing across the horizon.  Remember to gaze upon our earthly home and try to see the miracles begging for our attention.

Never forget those little kisses blown our way.  The tenderness of a child so quickly growing.  Savor the pure love they have for us in these fleeting glimpses of time.  These days will soon be over just like the setting sun, but those few moments are breathtaking.

Our bonds that tie us together should never be broken.  Through the turmoil we know that we have each other.  Mommy will always have your back and she wants to hold your hand.

Hold her close.  Breathe in the smell of those little curls and just let it all sink so deeply into your heart so that you can travel back to these treasures.   Let the weight of her settle into you and you will literally feel it again when it is needed most.

Oh, Little Grace and mommy, this is what life is about.  Thank you.
